Empowerment Isn’t Always a Power Pose

Empowerment Isn’t Always a Power Pose

Let’s be honest. Some days I wake up feeling like I’ve got it all together. Other days? I just want to hide under a blanket and be as small as possible.

I work with a brand that’s all about empowerment, pleasure, and taking up space. But the truth is, there are days I second-guess everything. Days I want to shrink back and stay quiet. Some days I’m lucky to get out of my pajamas.

Imposter syndrome? Oh yeah. We’re old friends.
But here’s what I’ve learned: just because you feel like a fraud doesn’t mean you are one. It usually means you're growing. It means you're pushing past old patterns and stepping into something unfamiliar. That work isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s just... a lot. Too much.

I’ve spent so many hours in therapy. I’ve sat in group sessions with strangers, worked through hard things, and turned to medication when I needed more support. And I’ll be the first to say this: it’s okay to need help. It’s okay to not have it all figured out. Whatever helps you feel more like yourself—that’s more than okay.

At Like A Kitten, we talk a lot about self-love, pleasure, and confidence. But the behind-the-scenes version? It’s not always shiny. Some days you feel powerful. Other days, you’re doing your best just to show up. Both are real. Both are enough.

If today’s one of those days where you’re just not feeling it, I hope you remember this: You’re not alone. You’re not broken. You’re growing.
And honestly, that’s where real empowerment starts.
